When it comes to giving a gift for Valentines, what better way to say I love you than a beautiful fragrance that can be enjoyed by all. I’ve picked out a few of my favourite unisex fragrances to review that exude quality, refinement and sensuality.
Tiziana Terenzi – Spirito Fiorentino

I adore Tiziana Terenzi and have previously posted on this Italian family run business when I reviewed their Orion fragrance. Tiziana Terenzi strikes again with Spirito Fiorentino which is housed in a similar luxury vessel but this time with a glossy red exterior. Launched in 2019 this floral woody scent is said to evoke images of the beautiful Italian countryside. The initial spray exudes a juicy citrus opening of Orange, warmed gently with the pleasantly sweet and earthy tones of Saffron. Soft flowery notes of Jasmine and Lily hang in the background but also bring their own delicate beauty to the scent. The floral aromas continue with the sweet, fruity and green subtleties of Lily of the Valley, Magnolia and Ylang-Ylang held together with noticeable Ambergris. The dry down is my favourite part of this fragrance journey as the leather accord comes into play. The leather is more like a soft suede; musky, delicate yet rich at the same time. Along with a plethora of woody accords, it combines to create a refined, sultry and sensual fragrance that is sure to impress.

Testament London is a fragrance house that creates imaginative scents boasting a minimum of 30% perfume concentration and high-quality ingredients. So if you are looking for unique and long-lasting scents then this exceptional range is a perfect choice. No Privacy is a unisex fragrance that caught my attention due to its sensuous and captivating notes. The fragrance journey begins with the spritely bright opening of Lemon and the juicy notes of Tangerine with its delicately laced Honey nuances. These are balanced beautifully with herbaceous smoky Coriander and the spicy delicate aromatic warmth of Cinnamon. The heart is a full-on flower fantasy, wavering between cool and spicy florals combined with a powdery shroud of Violet. These are all sumptuously drenched in a blanket of sweet Vanilla beans which along with its woody base provide a long-lasting and highly addictive dry down.

Moresque is an Italian fragrance house which combines the finesse of Italian design with the art of Arabic perfumery. This is evident with their Secret Collection which are housed in bottles exuding Arabic vibes of golden tops and lattice design. Moresque’s Ubar 1922 is inspired by the lost city of Ubar which was found in 1922 after being buried in the sands of the Arabian Peninsula for almost 1500 years. Located on the ancient incense trade routes, the notes were composed to tell the story of this city’s exotic past. The fragrance begins with an energetic sweet and citrusy opening combined with a fresh pine-like aroma almost conjuring up images of tree sap baking in the sun. It quickly transforms into a herbaceous and slightly spicy heart enhanced with a delicate swirling of smoke. The dry down develops into a rich and complex composition with woody nuances and a rich leather undertone. All the while that initial aromatic freshness leaves its trail, journeying through the scent until the very end.

Olibere Paris – L’Etoile Noire

Olibere Paris is a fragrance house who have worked with 3 internationally renowned master perfumers to create a range of scents inspired by film locations, legendary films and iconic heroines. Released in 2016 and inspired by the movie Mulholland Drive, L’Etoile Noire explores the juxtaposition between dark and light. On application, the effervescent notes immediately transport me to sunnier climbs. Imagine sitting under a lemon tree that looks over the sparkling Mediterranean. The citrus aromas of the spicy Bergamot and Italian Lemon are expertly blended with a refreshing and uplifting aquatic note. As if the sun sinks beneath the horizon the fragrance begins to reveal its darker spicier characteristics. The delicate warmth of blue Ginger reverberates from the skin along with an almost underlying smoky nuance. A cool pine-like woody aroma cascades from the scent as if brought in by the trees from a nearby forest. The dry down continues to exude a smokey, sweet and powdery vibe which lasts long into the day.

Jacques Fath Paris – L’Oree Du Bois

Jacques Fath opened his first couture house in Paris in 1937 and was known for his unique and glamorous style. Working with numerous renowned perfumers around the world he released his first fragrance in 1947 and since then has become a legend in the world of perfumery. L’oree Du Bois created by Italian Perfumer Luca Mafei is described as ‘a peaceful walk in the forest’. When spraying this scent, it immediately rouses up images of that forest, but one that is bathed in golden sunlight and full of colour. It opens up with the bright notes of citrusy Bergamot, light and zesty Yellow Mandarin and the sweet floral of Moroccan Neroli. A delicate profusion of warm florals floats majestically through the fragrance as if being carried by the summer breeze through the trees, undulating between sweet, fruity and fresh. The base of musk and wood accords are delicately infused with a sumptuous honey note. It ebbs its sweet nectar through a unique gold accord of Cumin, Saffron and Cinnamon leaving an unforgettable trail.
