Riad BE Marrakech

It’s probably no surprise by now that you know how much I love Marrakech! Stepping into its bustling labyrinth feels like entering a world where time stands still, and every corner tells a story. The medina, pulsating with history, traditions, culture, art, and handicrafts, serves as the beating heart of this captivating city, where the past beautifully intertwines with the present. Nestled amidst this kaleidoscope of experiences is Riad BE, a merging of two distinct riads that encapsulates the essence of Marrakech’s rich heritage with a stylish contemporary touch. Hidden down a quiet street just off the Medina, Riad Be is a welcoming sanctuary from the city’s chaotic charm.

The two Riads, The Oasis and The Essence, each have their unique characteristics and ambience. The Oasis exudes a modern interpretation of Moroccan style with intricate, vibrant-coloured green tiles, leafy plants, a cooling plunge pool, and numerous vibrant alcoves to read and relax. Upstairs has a completely different vibe with vibrant hues of blues, yellows, and terracotta. This part of the riad offers seven rooms, each exuding its colourful charm. Although I wasn’t staying in this part of the riad, it was great to sit there and enjoy Moroccan tea or take a dip in the pool during the heat of the day.

The Essence is much more pared back than the Oasis, and its simplistic style is carried throughout and into the relaxed and elegant guest rooms. I stayed in the Zafran room located on the ground floor, which had a double bed, a separate space for clothes, a cosy Moroccan lounge, floor heating, and air conditioning. The bathroom is made with traditional Moroccan tadelakt with a sink, toilet, and shower. A sense of calm permeates the shared courtyard with natural-coloured hues contrasted with bright yellow furnishings. Here, you can laze around, enjoy a dip in the pool, or relax with a good book. The Essence also has its yoga studio, hammam and massage area, so you can take that relaxation to the next level. With only four rooms available in this riad, it offers a truly tranquil experience.

The riads are seamlessly interconnected with an impressive rooftop, full of boho charm. Different styled seating, beds, and shady spots layered with traditional Moroccan textiles make it a relaxing spot. With natural hues of terracotta, creams, and browns, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a bit of calm under the Moroccan sunshine and listen to the sound of birds chirping away. Here, you can also enjoy an evening dinner under the twinkling stars or wake up to a wonderful breakfast with traditional Moroccan items along with a choice of delicious fresh fruit each day. I must say, out of all of the riads I have stayed in in Morocco, this was one of the best breakfasts.

I adored my time at Riad BE, to the extent that I didn’t want to depart. The warm hospitality, stunning interiors, and serene atmosphere in opinion made it of the top places to stay in Marrakech. Stepping in from the bustling Medina always brought a sense of relief as the chaotic city vibes faded away. Whether you’re in search of a peaceful getaway, cultural immersion, or transformative experience, Riad Be offers a gateway to the enchanting world of Marrakech.
