The Perfume Shop – St James Quarter

Like a lot of Edinburgh locals, I have been very excited to see the opening of the brand-new St James Quarter. As a fragrance fanatic, I have missed wandering the fragrance stores and sniffing out my next favourite scent. So you could imagine how thrilled I was to hear that The Perfume Shop announced it will be opening a new store in this exciting new shopping development. I popped along on Thursday when the store first opened its doors to check out their innovative new space.

The impressive 950sq ft store, takes The Perfume Shop’s experiential format, negating His and Hers fragrance bays and instead categorising scents by brand, including Chanel, Dior, Mugler, Marc Jacobs, Boss and Gucci, alongside their bestselling own brand ranges The Perfume Edit and ME. Their categorisation makes it very easy to stroll around, navigate towards your favourite brand or of course discover some new favourites.

The Perfume Shop’s flagship space in the St James Quarter is their most environmentally friendly store yet and wandering around you can’t help but notice this, right down to the tiniest of details. As well as the shop being kitted out with LED and sensor-controlled lighting, the floor has been made using sustainable timber and even the entrance mat is fabricated from 80% recycled goat hair. The store’s heating and cooling system is integrated for efficiency, water efficiency taps have been installed and the door is an automatic open and close to reduce wasted energy.

A distinguishable feature is the impressive dedicated CSR zone with statement tree which will be in store until 3rd July. Decorated with empty perfume bottles to highlight the recycling service, shoppers are invited to add their fragrance memories, CSR pledges and comments to the tree and be gifted with a voucher to receive 15% off their next £50 spend when they do so.

Further to this, Customers will be able to return their empty bottles for recycling and receive 10% off their next purchase, while The Perfume Shop will plant a tree with charity Eden Reforestation Projects for every bottle recycled.

There are also many customer offerings available in-store including free gift wrapping and personalised ribbon printing, as well as offering the unrivalled expertise of The Perfume Shop’s colleagues available via one-to-one in-store consultations. Head long now to experience this fantastic new store opening.
